Life’s Too Short To Fold Fitted Sheets

In response to NaBloPoMo’s prompt of the day:

Who is an expert you admire and why?

My sister can fold a fitted sheet into a perfectly flat rectangle.  That’s just crazy hard to do.

The best I can do still has lumps.  Maybe if I piled some bricks on it?

I’m sure there are other experts – great thinkers and humanitarians – who deserve to be admired, but honestly – she gets the damned sheet COMPLETELY flat!

Folded flat or not? I’ve noticed there is a certain amount of variation in construction with a fitted sheet. Yes, they are all have elastic at the corners. After that, they seem to vary quite a lot. Some have elastic all around. Others just top and tail. There are those that are elasticized corners and sides, too. When buying the sheet sets, assuming we are talking Queen Size? Never really figured out why a King is larger? When buying sheet sets, these days. They now seem to state will fit mattresses of 18 inch depth.

So now we have it, mattresses are officially 18ins thick? … Wow!

Oh and the sheets? In Canada, I go to Winners stores, where they have sheet sets as seconds 100% 300 count cotton. Queen set 49.99 plus extra pillow cases for 12.99. That’s how they make up the price differences.

Folding? Well, I usually halve them and one set of corners is turned into the opposite corners. a table is best to then lay the folded half sheet on. Then rectangle the sides and then complete to folding process. My own method is to third them into the finished folded shape. Perfectly flat? Nah, but good enough for the girls we go with … Cheers Jamie.
